With the hundreds of free fishing games sites online you can get really good at one or just play them all to figure out which one you like best. Some games, to level up, you have to catch a certain kind of fish a specified number of times in a row which is pretty easy on the lower levels. Once you get to the higher levels, you have to catch the fish faster while making sure it is the same kind or you have to start over. That can become rather annoying and you might join the ranks of people who yell at their computer monitors.
You can also choose your skill level that goes from never having fished before to professional and you can pick just straight game play all the way up to tournaments. Some of the fishing games, though, require you to be at a certain level with a certain amount of points to be able to play the tournaments. There are regular fishing tournaments all the way up to Big Mouth Bass tournaments.
Some of the games are a little more archaic in that they run on the good old fashioned DOS and instead of using your mouse, you use your keyboard space bar and arrow keys to cast your line and to reel it in. With these types of fishing games, you just catch computer simulated fish and level up by scoring points. They are geared more for little kids, though, but they are good if you just want to learn how to play before jump in with the big dogs.
There are some fishing games that let you shoot the fish! They are crazy addictive and free. Who knew that shooting a fish could be so fun? Same rules apply here also. It tells you what kind of fish you have to shoot and then you have to shoot a certain amount in a specified time frame. You have to look out though, because there are obstacles in the way and if you shoot one of them, you lose a ton of points.
You can go lake fishing or deep-sea fishing all in the comfort of your own home by simply going online. The lake fishing games are more realistic in that you cast your line then sit and wait. You can toggle weather conditions and high or low tide. They keep your fish count and weight count and your points are just that, you do not actually level up playing them.
Deep sea fishing on the computer is much the same way. Very realistic in that you might catch a crab or a baby shark. Throwing them back makes you lose points but there again, you are not leveling up. You are just obtaining a whole bunch of points and experience to enter the tournaments, but sometimes that is all you need for a boost of confidence. Enjoy!
